Endeavour at the State Pier
Arriving in Portsmouth

Passing under the Memorial Bridge, Endeavour passengers wave at a lineup of spectators who were allowed to ride the 75 year old lift bridge (see article) that divides Portsmouth, NH from Kittery, ME.

Next was a trip beneath the Sarah Long Bridge, which also seemed like a close call to those watching. The Australian flag arrives in New Hampshire and that nation's national anthem was performed by the Portsmouth High School band. A bagpiper placed high in the sails, performed as the ship arrived into the Port Authority pier.

The captain oversees every detail in the final docking. Speeches followed for a crowd of a few hundred that had gathered for the kickoff of the 11-day visit.

A typical group of Portsmouth citizens pose in front of the
recently docked Endeavour. Actually, these re-enactors were up from Massachusetts.
