Suddenly we're back on the street, and after the tasteful National Park
treatment, the tacky souvenir shop to the right snaps the doleful
visitor back to reality. Yes, that's a cardboard Bill Clinton standing
in the doorway. 
To the left of the Peterson House, it's no better, though the T-shirts
are cheaper from a cluster of street vendors.  And if one has the stomach for it, there's always the Lincoln House where we picked up a snack while waiting to reboard the trolley for our condensed tour of Washington DC.
