![]() The old Portsmouth High as known by Charles Brewster was built on the land donated 150 years earlier by Bridget Graffort for the first Portsmouth school. That school was never built, it appears, and it was only by accident that the 19th century high school landed on the same spot. It then became the city Court House and is now a private office condo on Daniel Street. A plaque to poor Bridget tells the story.
