The last of the great sailing ships built at Portsmouth Yard on the Piscataqua, the USS Boxer awaits launch in the giant Franklin Shiphouse for launching on October 7, 1904. Before it was enlarged, the original shiphouse was 240 feet long by 131 feet wide and 72 feet high.
