Legend says Louis Wagner pulled his boat into this southerly cove when he arrived at Smuttynose Island late in the evening of March 5.

Wagner Cove
Today the site is marked with a wooden sign that looks hauntingly like a wooden cross. Surrounding the marker is some very nasty poison ivy.
