Their advertisement reads, "One of the oldest established, largest patronized, and most metropolitan stores in our city. Founded 35 years ago and established at its present location in 1894, and having the enviable reputation for carrying the finest grades of household goods sold at consistent prices. Fashionable furniture of the best and most reliable manufacture, carpets of notable texture and beauty, draperies and window shades, stoves and ranges, refrigerators ..." and so forth. Today, 62 Market Street is Madd Matt's Ice Cream, and, 64 Market Street is the Portsmouth Gas Light Company.
